Fashionplay is an artist driven platform for conceptual fashion, founded in 2006 by Therese Dahlqvist and Helena Hertov.

Helena Hertov graduated with a MFA in Textile at Konstfack in 2008, same year as Therese Dahlqvist graduated with a MFA in Fine Arts from The Royal Institute of Art. Since 2006 we work together under the name Fashionplay.

We’re promoting a broader understanding of fashion through the arrangement of fashion projects, exhibitions and fashion talks. Our aim is to develop and strengthen fashion as an art form and cultural expression.

Our artistic work, wich you find under the category Fashion Art, is built on the notions of identity, consumption and normativity. We explore these issues through research and practical experiments such as installations, videos and photos. We want to make fashion that affects and creates new ideas and thought patterns.

As curators we work to find new ways of presenting fashion. To date we have curated shows and exhibitions, performance in public spaces in Stockholm but also fanzines and seminars. Our curatorial work you find under the category Curatorial.
