Ruta 1
Ruta 1 är ett arbete om kläder som handlar om att ta tillvara på och utnyttja materialet maximalt.
Genom att använda tygets egen form med så få ingrepp som möjligt har jag sökt efter dess inneboende möjligheter och egenskaper. Jag har arbetat med ytorna och materialets flexibilitet för att finna form och funktion som också speglar elegans och lusten att klä sig.
Min inspiration hämtar jag främst bland det uppfinningsrika och spontana användandet av tygstycket som förekommer bland många kulturer. Med enkla konstruktioner som alla bygger på den fyrkantiga formen har mitt undersökande resulterat i en serie väskor och kläder med mångfunktionella lösningar.
I serien ingår kläder och accessoarer tillverkade av tyger och läder som är producerade i Sverige.

Square 1
Square 1 is a work about going back to basic, to where it all begins. It is also about taking care of the material, the shape of the fabric and the possibilities it carries in its own shape before it is cut. By using the squared shape of the fabric without cutting and interfering too much, I have found many ways of using the same shape in different ways. From one item or garment you can transform the shape the way you want. Your fantasy is your only limit. I have been working with surfaces and the flexibility in the material to find function in the shape that shows a playful attitude but also drama and elegance.
I find my inspiration in already well-tried inventions and in the innovative and spontaneously way of using the uncut fabric in cultures around the world. My research is focused on simple constructions that are made from the squared shape from a piece of cloth. And I am struck by the similarity between how people carry and dress in different parts of the world.
The result from this work is a collection with clothes and bags that all are transformable and that encourage you to move and chance the way you look.
Material information:
The collection is made from jersey fabric in cotton and wool especially made and designed for ruta 1. Apart from the fabrics, leather is used in bags and belts.
