We wish to invite you to this fourth installment of Fashionplay and are proud to present a study of different perspectives on today's second-hand clothing. Part of the program, an event will be held at the ShowKonstfack Gallery in collaboration with the group Dress Off Dress On, where used garments can be exchanged, along with a dissemination of critical texts dealing with the topic.

Dress Off Dress On is a collaborative team composed of the cultural workers Jennie Johansson and Ida Lithell. The aim of this tandem is to present alternative methods to counter today's accelerated speed of consumption that is forming our society and social behaviours. Dress Off Dress On wishes to find ways to satisfy our urge for consumption without falling into a return to the traditions, with the imperative of slowing down the process and by becoming personally engaged through exchange of clothes with their embedded histories.

Fashionplay is a curatorial team composed of the artist Therese Dahlqvist and designer Helena Hertov. We wish trough practical and theoretical practice to engage wider discussions around our relationship to today's consuming society, and conduct critical analyses of its significance. A desired outcome of our study is to engage a participatory audience with the possibility of creating a collective understanding for alternative and empowering consumption attitudes.
