What defines a garment?
Fashionplay no. 5 focuses on the issue of what defines a garment, and where the line is drawn between a piece of fabric and a garment. We have put the question to fourteen professionals within the art and fashion worlds, and the answers will be published on this website. We will also show two projects by Ingela Nilsson and Åsa Arvidsson, who have both explored the theme in different ways in their collections.
This issue also features a companion exhibition and workshop at Tensta konsthall.
Wednesday November 12th, 5 - 8 pm
Workshop. We have invited teenagers from different parts of Stockholm to participate in a workshop. During this workshop we will create clothes that challenge the notion of a garment.

Fashionplay is a non-profit organization that was founded to seek out new paths and methods in fashion. We intend to stimulate a balanced discussion on the functions of fashion by working on boundary-defying projects that challenge and question related normative notions.
