FASHIONTALK ´10
FASHION ART NEW ROADS – A seminar at Bonniers Konsthall as a part of Fashionwalk ´10

How do we define the field fashion art? What forms of presentation can evolve in fashion art? What are the different scenes that can be develop and strengthen the fashion art field?

The borderline between fashion and art has long been on the rise but still there is no physical scene that offers exhibition opportunities for its practitioners. Fashion in Sweden has for a while now been perceived as a superficial practice driven solely by commercial forces. Today we can find a new generation shaping new and creative paths. Artists, designers, artisans, fashion designers, architects work more in a more boundry-crossing way than ever before. Fashion is growing stronger as a theoretical topic and more and more people are in tune with the knowledge that fashion is producing in the society. This discussion will focus on the visions for a future exhibition forum, modes of presentation, and residences programs, as well as different alternatives for how conceptual fashion and related to practices are to develop.
